Artist's Statement

Creativity is inherent in almost everything I do. The way I live and look at life in general incorporates a sense of creativity. I come from a family of artists and from the looks of things I am passing the art gene on.

I am influenced by everything. I incorporate pattern and repetition into all of my work. I see rhythm everywhere from the bottoms of shoes (the patterns on the soles of shoes these days are remarkable) to the cacophony of rush hour traffic.

My main focus of creating art as a product is ceramics. I make functional and dysfunctional pottery (“art for arts sake”). I like the idea of art being incorporated into the mundane routines of life like eating a bowl of cereal or drinking coffee.
